I’m Claire Kirby.
Deep-thinking Strategic Copywriter x Obnoxious Karaoke Rap Battler.

Currently a Senior Writer at M+C Saatchi Australia where I’ve worked on some of the biggest campaigns for iconic brands like Lifeblood, Socceroos, Woolworths, Big W, BWS, TAB, Lilydale and CommBank as well as plenty of their smallest MRECs.

Before M+C, I was a Commercial Lawyer working in Mergers and Acquisitions at a couple of big Sydney Law firms. Sounds random, but it was as a lawyer that I learnt how to take really complex, boring ideas and make them sound simple and exciting. It was also where I learnt I hated being a lawyer and applied for Award School.

Before that brief affair with the left side of my brain, I was studying a double degree in Communications/ Law - working at the local university run radio station and freelancing for the local newspaper.

Before that, I worked part time in hospitality from the age of 13 . I’ve never had a workplace demand more of me than hospitality did. The PTSD of someone catching me ‘not being useful’ remains a cornerstone of my work ethic and overall anxiety to this day.

Before that, I was a child in Fairfield, Connecticut.
